Lava Warm Flow
ONE HOUR
Our signature – A fun and energetic yoga class done in a room warmed to 98-100 degrees (+ humidity) where we take basic yoga postures and make them flow. We move you through a warm up, four balance postures and two flow sequences plus a few savasanas (or corpse pose – laying on your back) giving you a little break. We work to build strength, balance, flexibility, mindfulness and self kindness.
All levels are welcome.
A great starter class if you are new to yoga or checking us out for the first time.

Lava Warm Flow 2
ONE HOUR
Our signature Lava Warm Flow series but with different flow sequences with the addition of Sun A and Sun B. Still the same fun and energetic yoga class done in a room warmed to 98-100 degrees (+ humidity) where we take basic yoga postures and make them flow.
All levels are welcome.

Lava Hot Flow
ONE HOUR
Our signature Lava Warm Flow series but done in a room warmed a notch higher at 100-103 degrees (+ humidity). The same fun and energetic yoga class where we take basic yoga postures and make them flow.
All levels are welcome though we recommend you start with Lava Warm Flow to acclimate yourself to the heat.

Lava Hot Flow Extended
75 MINUTES
More balance postures and flow sequences. The same fun and energetic yoga class done in a room warmed to 100-103 degrees (+ humidity), but we move you through a total of five balance postures and four flow sequences compared to four balance postures and two flow sequences in our hour Lava Hot Flow.
All levels are welcome, though we recommend you start with Lava Warm Flow to acclimate yourself to the heat.

Warm Vinyasa Flow
ONE HOUR
A Vinyasa-style flow class done in a room warmed to 98-101 degrees (+ humidity). This class deviates from our signature Lava Warm Flow series as it changes from week to week for playfulness and exploration. The class has been known to help those who come to our signature classes break out of the box a bit and allows our instructors room for creativity. As always, we work to build strength, balance, flexibility, mindfulness and self-kindness.
All levels are welcome.

Kula
ONE HOUR
Kula is the word for family in Sanskrit. This class is done in a room warmed to 98-101 (+ humidity) and music is up! It is cued very little by naming the poses only. We move you through the Lava Hot Flow Extended series with our movement being your guide. For those who know the series well, we invite you to go through the sequence at your own pace and truly make the experience your own – add things in, take things out. You do you. We find this class to be very confidence building, empowering, contemplative and meditative.
All levels are welcome.

26 & 1
ONE HOUR
26 postures done once in a room heated to 100 (+ humidity). After beginning with two breathing exercises to warm up the lungs, we move you through 26 postures to work the cardiovascular, circulatory, digestive, immune, muscular, nervous and skeletal systems. This is not a Vinyasa style flow class as brief moments of stillness separate the postures, giving your body and mind time to absorb the subtle changes this series brings about.
All levels are welcome. Both beginners and advanced practitioners love this class.
We recommend you do not eat for an hour before class. If you are pregnant, check with your doctor prior to attending class.

26 & 2
90 MINUTES
26 postures done twice in a room heated to 100 (+ humidity) – After beginning with two breathing exercises to warm up the lungs, we move you through 26 postures and then again to work the cardiovascular, circulatory, digestive, immune, muscular, nervous and skeletal systems.

Yoga Sculpt
ONE HOUR

All levels are welcome.
Small weights will be available for use or you can bring your own. Many clients choose not to use any weights at all.

Stretch and Sound
ONE HOUR
A Vinyasa-style deep stretch in a gently heated room, warmed to 90-95 (+ humidity), where we move you through a gentle flow with deep stretching ending with an extended Savasana (or corpse pose – laying on your back) with sound healing. The sound bath is created by a humming vibration from crystal singing bowls aligned with the body’s energy centers (aka chakras) bringing balance to the body and mind.
All levels are welcome.

Our signature Lava Warm Flow series at a reduced rate.
$9 CASH | $10 CC

Kundalini
90 Minutes
Kundalini is known as the yoga of awareness. An ancient practice that uses various techniques to awaken latent energy. This class aims to awaken that energy, which often sits at the base of the spine, and allow it to flow. We will do this by moving you through a mix of meditation, movement, vocal vibrational meditation, breathwork (including breath of fire) and energy healing. Great class to strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, boost energy, improve immunity, calm the mind, increase self awareness and focus and improve memory. Though the class is not heated, we will build heat in the body.

Restorative yoga provides healing for the mind and the body. This class is low impact as it is designed to restore the nervous system and help eliminate fatigue and stress that result from daily activities. We move you through a few poses utilizing props such as bolsters (provided by the studio) to help support the body while also gently stretching and strengthening. We also introduce and lead you through various breathing exercises to help connect your breath to the body and calm the spirit.
All levels are welcome.

I was born and raised in rural Kansas before my family moved to Waco, Texas. In Texas, I tried yoga for the first time and have been hooked ever since. I have been teaching yoga classes since 2019 and I am 500 Hour RYT certified in Multi-Style Vinyasa as well as Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Adaptive Yoga, and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
In 2023, I returned to Kansas to complete my studies at the University of Kansas School of Law and feel so lucky to have found a home at Lava Lawrence! When I am not teaching or practicing yoga, I enjoy shopping, playing piano, watching movies, staying active, and hanging out with my cats. See you on the mat!

Yoga has become a way of life for me. It's a journey of self-discovery, divine play, and healing that unfolds with every breath. I love to find the connection between breath and movement, and the way each posture teaches me about compassion, patience, and the joy of being in a body. Beyond the physical benefits of increased strength, flexibility, and balance, Yoga has been a vehicle for me to explore profound questions about existence, consciousness, and the nature of reality.
In 2017, I decided to deepen my Yoga practice and went to Peru for an immersive Yoga Teacher Training.
In 2020, I completed Trauma Informed Training, including Yoga for addiction, anxiety, depression, survivors of sexual violence, and disordered eating.
I am an avid traveler and have enjoyed sharing the practice across 5 different countries: in jungles, airports, law-schools, hostels, on riverbanks, an in my own backyard. I believe in the boundless potential of Yoga to heal people from all walks of life. It's a practice that meets us wherever we are, offering exactly what we need, whether it's strength, surrender, or stillness.
I recently went back to school to get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I love to dance, laugh, read books, go for walks, cook, travel, and spend time with my people. I am so excited to be teaching at Lava Yoga Lawrence again! This studio continues to be treasured by many in the community, and I look forward to sharing the beauty of Yoga with you.

RYT 200
I received my 200 RYT certification in January of 2025, after studying and learning from two of the best,
Craig Pruett and Becca Spencer. Craig and Becca led me and my incredible classmates through the
Ghosh yoga methodology, a challenging change from my regular yoga practice. I was inspired to receive
my certification after practicing at Lava Yoga Lawrence since 2019 with a range of instructors, but always
with aspirations of having the teaching presence and talent of my long-time friend, Carrie Mandigo.
Carrie’s mantra of “we don’t do yoga to get better at yoga, we do yoga to get better at living” really
resonates with me!
In addition to enjoying yoga, I also work as a community connector at the Douglas County Community
Foundation, helping donors achieve their charitable goals by matching them with the amazing nonprofit
organizations serving Douglas County and beyond. I also direct a summer leadership program called
Leadership Douglas County, a Kansas Leadership Center designated community leadership program.
In my own experiences, I have felt that adult learning can be especially challenging and a little bit scary,
so my goal is to make your time at Lava one of calmness and knowing that it is a “practice.” So, do not
be intimidated to come on in and join me, and give it a try! My mantra is, “be good to yourself!”
I am an active member of Lawrence Rotary board and the Kansas Association of Community
Foundations board.
I have lived in Lawrence since 1990 with my husband Matt, and we have two sons, Jackson and Keaton.
Jackson works for the Memphis Grizzlies and Keaton is a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University.
Off the mat, I love to play pickleball and mahjong!

I’m very excited to join the lava family. I’ve always been an athletic person as I played basketball throughout the years, ncluding college. I was never the one to really work on stretching or work on my mobility and flexibility. As the years went on with strength training, I was dealing with a lot of chronic pain, sore muscles, developing stiff hips and hamstrings and I knew I had to make a change.
I actually thought about doing yoga but never really went through with it until one day I was in the sauna at the gym and I saw something on social media about hot yoga and the benefits of it. So I googled to see if Topeka had a hot yoga studio and sure enough I found out about Lava Yoga. I fell in love with it and have been obsessed with it ever since. My flexibility and mobility has improved so much and the start of this journey has been amazing. I feel at peace and my body feels very good afterwards. I encourage you to come to lava yoga for yourself and see the amazing benefits it can have for you. It really has saved me and my body. Hope to see you on the mat soon!
